Life is interesting here in the small town in the middle of nowhere, Hayden's has made some friends and the reflect where we live that I have to share.
Friend A
He really wanted over for a play date so I call his mom and we arrange it Great first invermere play date it went well so I plan another this time the kid totally freaks out when I ask him to ware a helmet and doesn't listen to me so I tell him its time to go home if you cant listen he say fine drive me. Okay you little a$$ I drive you and have a thing or two to say to mom when we get there. Well I call mom she not home I call again an hour later still not home 3 hours later finally I get a hold of her and bring her her span. We arrive at the house used car and parts all over lawn and a pit bull tied up on the balcony Interesting only in Invermere. I mention he wouldn't listen she said " Yep that Friend A just let him fall on his head hell learn!"
Okay interesting.
Fast forward over the next few months the kids begs me every day to come to our house so I cave a couple of more times but regretfully. The kids plays rough and is rude so i really cant do this anymore I ask Hayden do you have any other friends that you would like to play with. He suggest Friend B.
I call Friend B mom and arrange a play date. It goes well enough, I go to drop the kid off his mom thanks me for inviting him over no problem she then says "No thank you so much Friend B doesn't really have any friends and has problems making new friends." Okay Interesting. I later find out over several play dates that this Friend has a bit of imagination that is border line not on the normal side and tends to lie and just is kind of creepy.
I am proud of Hayden he has a big heart but really what all of these interesting kids for friends isn't there any normal children for him to play with.
Friend C comes along Hayden goes over for a play date. I arrive to pick him up the live in a trailer with car parts everywhere and antlers lining their garage Oh S@#$ I dropped the ball on this one why did I let him go over before I went to see the place. Walk up to the door garbage lining the walk way Okay and the dad opens the door and welcomes me in to a very small room kitchen/living room filled with furniture and dishes ever where. The boys are playing a Hunting game (go figure) he ask me to sit meanwhile hes picking up clothes/toys from the chair. Umm its really okay I have dinner ON the stove/ the dog needs a walk / I hear my mom calling thank you bye.
Now lets see how about Hunters Frends.....
First Frend Mom had her when she was 16 and she live with he boyfriend they are curently working on baby number two at 19 years old.
Seccond freind mom had to move back home (she also had him at 16) after she had he seccond child and was kicked out of the baby daddys house for drinking too much and now only sees her seccond child once a month and lives at home with the first child no contact with his dad she is rehabing and I hope for the childrens sake she stays sober.
Maybe I am too cynical maybe I forgot the small town I grew up in, but maybe I also want the best for my kids. What happened to keeping kids inocent and playing with then supporting their imaginations. I think we need to live somewhere a little more civilised, more culture and more to offer. But we are here and there is something to say about a small town and for now its what we call home. For now I think I need to play with my kids more and talk more about what their friends say to them to ensure they get the right infomation about life. (And move before they are 16)
Beautiful moments
While changing Hunter last night I was wiping his belly button off it had some ice cream on it. He said giggling " Don't touch my Button"
Today I told Hayden about someone who had done something to upset me and it wasn't nice or fare he said I shouldn't let that happen I should protest in front of her house and let her know she was wrong and not a nice person.
